Things I have learned so far on my honeymoon
1. San Francisco is very very very hilly. You might even say semi-mountainous.
2. Flight to Hawaii is 5-6 hours not 2-3 hours.
3. Time difference between Hawaii and Boston is 5 hours, not 8.
4. There are mosquitos in Hawaii and they do bite.
5. I do not like repelling.

If we went with the original date...
...we would be married by now.
However, we would be drenched. According to B's mom it is pouring in Brooklyn. Also, weather.com is now saying sun for November 15. So we will see.
We have the infamous Notre Dame game tonight and all day we have been crossing things off the list. Everyone has been assigned a table and we are almost done with the placecards. I had a minor snafu but it is all minor and completely fixable. Tomorrow hopefully programs will be printed and folded and the dress arrives home.
I have yet to have a real breakdown but it may be coming. Or not.
We head to NYC late Wednesday night. Monday and Tuesday will be busy with actual work since we won't be back in the office until December 1.

Maui Wowee
We settled upon accommodations for our days in Maui. Yay!!! We had decided a while ago to rent a condo for Maui and that is what we did. We went to Vacation Rentals By Owner and we decided upon the neighborhood of Kaanapali (I am sure there are grammar marks in there somewhere but I am fine with bastardizing the spelling right now). We are staying at what may be the same place MOH Ann stayed at. It is on a great beach, has two pools, and a good restaurant. So we are psyched. We also got an amazing rate on the place which is even better.
Though I did get my first real sense of sticker shock when I saw how much car rentals are on the islands. Wowee!

Hotels done - or most of them
After we had our flights booked we knew we had to get cracking on the hotels. We decided to do a mix of hotels and condos for a) variety and b) cost efficiency. So since we have Marriott rewards we looked into Marriotts first.
Our first stop is in San Francisco and we wanted to have a luxury few nights on the honeymoon and decided to do it here since it would be cheaper than Hawaii (everything is just more expensive there). So we booked the JW Marriott in San Fran and its located right in the heart of downtown and we probably won't need a car. Isn't it purty? We have a city-view room.

Then we move on to Kauai and here Marriott was having a Rewards-member special and we got a great rate for the Marriott Resort in Lihue. So that was booked. And I will tell you, I had the most pleasant experience with the reservations person. She made sure to make a note that it was our honeymoon (something that may help in San Fran but most people in Hawaii will be honeymooners from the messages on the Knot) and then gave me some life advice for being married.

Hawaii Bound
We purchased our flights to Hawaii last night. Well, technically we cashed in all the points we have collected over the past year and a half from our credit cards. And we basically had to pay the taxes which were not as bad as two round trip tickets to Hawaii with a two day layover in San Francisco. B and I decided that the ticket prices won't be going down for awhile and we should just bite the bullet.
Now we just have to figure out lodging and that will take awhile.

Lost and what it means to my honeymoon
Lost started last night and it was awesome! Much more in line with Season 1 and I may just forget that Season 2 ever happened (except for the finale as that was truly kickass).
Lost films on Hawaii. We are going to Hawaii. I am going to find the passengers of Flight 815 and save them from the evil people. That is, once we figure out who are the bad guys.
[I do realize that Lost is a TV show but I think it would be fun to see where they film and maybe actually see them film a scene or two. Especially a scene with Kate. I love Kate. ]

Honeymoon confirmed! I think.
I was giving the green light to buy a travel book on Hawaii for our honeymoon so I think the honeymoon is all set. Well, at least the destination is set.
